Can I hide the post dates?

I’m trying to use this for an historical timeline going back to the year 1630 so I’d like for the post dates to not show. I have my posts for the timeline named 1630, 1644 etc. I can’t just manually change the date on the posts because wordpress time only goes back to 1970.
I did try commenting out the get_the_date and get_the_month in timeline.php but the left the page with NaN and th.
