    Helle:

Here is what I get prompted with after hitting “Save changes”

“Saving failed: AJAX call successful, internal saving process failed. Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.”

    Wp v5.7
    TablePress 1.13!

I can add a new table.
I cannot save changes to a new table or any existing tables.

Please let me know what you think.

    Thanks,

    Issue solved.

JQuery Migrate plugin needs to be de-activated while attempting to make changes to the tables.

Once the table edits were complete and saveed, JQuuery Migrate plugin can be re-activated.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Yes, it’s correct that that “jQuery Migrate Helper” plugin plays a role here.
Essentially, it’s a plugin that can help to find out more information
about certain programming issues (related to the jQuery JavaScript
    library) in plugins and themes.
For some sites, that became necessary with the update to WordPress 5.6
in December, when WordPress updated its version of jQuery from the old
1.12.4 to the current version 3.5.1.
Some plugins and themes were not yet compatible to that, so that
JavaScript errors could happen. That “jQuery Migrate Helper” could
then temporarily mitigate those, by changing the jQuery version back
    to the old 1.12.4.
This is only a temporary fix, to gain time for developers to update
their plugins to the newest jQuery. Most of them did that, except
maybe for plugins that have been abandoned or are no longer being
    maintained.
As for TablePress, I added some code changes so that it is indeed (and
unintentionally) no longer fully compatible to the old version 1.12.4,
but now requires version 3.5.1 of jQuery (the one that comes with
    WordPress).
Thus, in very rar edge cases, the issue that you saw can happen.
The best solution indeed is to deactivate “jQuery Migrate Helper”. If this indeed leads to other errors (related
to jQuery/JavaScript) these should be reported to the corresponding
    plugin developers.

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Some of our authors are experiencing the same problem, but we do not use the jQuery Migrate Helper plugin.
It’s worth noting that we’re on a multisite network, and not every user has this problem (personally, I got the error once but after that everything worked well).
Do you have any idea what might be the cause?

    Thanks,
    Elco

    Hi,

sorry, I don’t have further ideas here, without directly investigating this. If that’s an option, could you therefore please get in touch via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

Turns out our problem was caused by the Publish Press Revisions plugin.
Thanks @tobiasbg for your effort to get to the bottom of this!
