• Since updating to the most recent, i cant seem to update / preview any posts. on clicking the button it just spins and eventually i get the backing up to browser, connection lost spinner. But that spins too and eventually i need to shut it down as it grinds the browser to a stop. There is a notable drag on the server cpu/ram when i try to preview or update the post. I then tried to roll back using wp rollback and I get the following error in the plugin interface:

“<p>”There has been a critical error on this website.</p><p><a href=”https://ww.wp.xz.cn/documentation/article/faq-troubleshooting/”>Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.”

I tried rolling back another plugin and was successful, but no luck with WP Store locator.

Any ideas how to fix or why it is doing it as it now pretty much broken and i cant use it in the current state.

    Any help appreciated.
    TIA

  • Hi there, thanks for writing.

The error you mention seems to be related to something not working quite right in your WordPress backend. Since store locations in Wp Store Locator are nothing but regular WordPress posts, with a custom post type attribute, have you noticed the same behavior when you are trying to update / preview any other “regular” WordPress posts? Does it only happen with posts of “store locator” type?

Also, in order to understand the issue better, you would need to get your hands on your server error log, where you will find a more verbose description of what is going on under the hood when the bug happens.

    Many thanks.

Thanks for getting back. I think i have got to the bottom of it. It seems it was not affecting any other preview on any other plugin or native posts on the site for whatever reason, but it looks like it could be a conflict with a theme plugin causing the issue. If i deactivate that conflicting plugin things work as expected. I will reach out to them and see what they say.

The rollback issue was a separate issue it turns out. WP Rollback released a further update that resolved it.
