Can update/save menu

Help!!
I’m using the menu widget that comes with WP 3.1. It was working fine when I found an error in a custom link menu item (it was “http://http//www.evolvefish.com” instead of “http://www.evolvefish.com”). I corrected the error but when I tried to save it, I got the following error message:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/atheistexile/AtheistExile.com/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 82
I retried many times, over the next few days, but always got the same result.
Finally, I removed the menu item but when I tried to save it I got the following message:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/atheistexile/AtheistExile.com/wp-includes/nav-menu.php on line 585
Does anybody know what causes this problem (and how to fix it)?

Oops . . . Title should read “Can NOT update/save menu”.
Messed up the question/request . . . closing and trying again.
AtheistExile, did you ever figure this issue out? I’m having the same problem right now and it’s for a site that I’ve been building up a big prelaunch to and is set to go live in 3 days (Friday) with lots of anticipation. I’m really stressing!
Any direction you could provide for how you fixed the issue would be appreciated. It was working just fine and then all of a sudden started producing the error you mention above (showing errors on different lines of different files each time). I have over 130 pages listed in the menu… is that a problem? Is there a max number of menu items you can have? Hoping to hear from you soon!
