Can we optimize a site using cpanel Php Pear modules

Hello, i was just browsing my shared hosting cpanel and found that there were many php pear packages available for installation: Two of them were: Cache (1.5.6): Framework for caching of arbitrary data and
Cache_Lite (1.7.16): Fast and Safe little cache system.

Now my question is can we optimize our wordpress installation by installing these php pear modules directly from cpanel? Thanks.
