The update to 3.0.6 brought a step backward IMHO, as we users are told:

Custom CSS is longer recommended. This feature is no longer allowed in Decode. To continue using these tweaks, copy and paste your CSS into a custom CSS plugin such as Jetpack.

Why on earth would I have to install the bloated Jetpack with WordPress Inc. supervision, if current implementation in Decode is all I need?

    Please keep it supported!

  • I’ve been allowed to keep this supported for now, but the rules for the theme marketplace may change. There was talk within the review board that this was “plugin territory” and themes may not be able to allow this functionality because it wasn’t as secure as Jetpack’s implementation.

I’ve since changed the wording, but since many people have Jetpack installed, I recommend it because it is more secure because it bundles a library to porperly sanitize the user’s input.
