Yea I have read about that but it is only redirecting me to wp-login. I get an annoying popup box and when i enter the correct credentials i still cant get in. Is this one of the outcomes of the force attack?
Probably – where is your site hosted? Have you asked them?
Damn. Its @ 987mb which is a small web hosting company in the uk. Thing is my user name was set to admin but my password was very secure. I have gone into the cpanel and changed my user name as a precaution. I cant speak to web hosting company at the moment as its still out of hours. Thanks for your help.
Just checked my other WP site and thats showing the same problem. It is clear that this is because of the brute attack. Oh dear
It doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad has happened to your site – and in fact, your site seems to be working fine. Many hosting companies have tightened down access to keep the attacks from getting in – and in some cases that means users can’t get in either. Unfortunately, we don’t have any more info than you do 🙁 – it’s frustrating for sure.
Of course, it’s always possible that it’s something else, but everything points to this, so check with them and see what the situation is on their end.
EDIT – just saw your last post – yeah, it’s a rough situation for everyone. Most of all, it’s horrid that people do things like this in the first place…sigh.
