    Bump? No one knows?

In IE7 I see some code in the posts like: <!–[if !vml]–><!–[endif]–> I also see <p class=”MSO-normal”> and that is not coming from the stylesheet.
Are people posting straight from Word? Teach them not to; it messes up the layout.

    Do you have ftp access?
Then re-upload the directories wp-admin and wp-includes and the wp files in the root but NOT wp-config.php

Straight acces to wp-admin like in http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/ should always lead to a redirect to the login page.

    To henkholland:

Yeah, the blahblah code is straight-from some direct-paste and it breaks the site in IE, which among other things is what I was going to fix, once inside.

I’m going to try reuploading wp and see what happens.

the download contains no folder wp-admin or any folders for that matter

im actually having this same exact problem today.

    two odd things occured:
I used to be able to access my site: http://www.skipster.us by just typing in skipster.us (with or without the www.) Now I need the www.

also going to http://www.skipster.us/wp-admin yields a blank screen. what the heck is going on?! someone? anyone?

@billreid: a fresh and locally unzipped WP2.9.1 should consist of a directory called WordPress with inside 3 directories wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes (each filled with many directories and files) and about 15 wp files like license.txt, readme.html, wp-app.php etc

@skipster: your site says “hacked” Do a search here in the forum to find good advice.

Have you found a solution to your problem? I am having the same issue. I go to wp-login.php and seemingly login ok but then cannot go anywhere. It seems my wp-admin directory does not allow access. That’s my best guess.

I have uploaded all files again and again except for wp-config.php. My database, name and password are all correct.

    Anyone?
