Hi @mohammedmalleck,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I understand that issues like this can be a bit confusing.
Could you please confirm whether you’ve only tested this once or if you’ve already tried deactivating and reconnecting the integration multiple times? If not, please try that first.
When responding, kindly share your system status report by going to WooCommerce → Status → Get system report → Copy for support, and then paste it on Pastebin. This will help me better understand your current setup and investigate further.
Hi @mosesmedh
Yes , I have tried deactivating and reconnecting the integration multiple times.
However , the issue still persists and I keep on seeing the loading buttons after clicking the “start accepting payments”.
You can view my system report here , as requested.
Looking forward to your response!Hi there!
Thank you for the update and for sharing your System Status Report. I’ve reviewed it, and everything appears fine on the surface.
To assist you further, could you please try the following for testing purposes:
- Deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and WooPayments, then try to reconnect the integration again and see if that work for you.
- If the issue persists, open your browser console (Ctrl + Shift + I) and check for any error messages.
- Please also share any fatal error logs you may have under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
Once we have this additional information, we’ll be able to investigate and assist you further.
Hi @shahzeenfarooq
I did not find any fatal errors nor does deactivating all plugins except woocommerce and woopayments solve the issue.
However , I tried to create a test account this time and I was able to see the options to connect to stripe ie:. the normal procedure to set the account .
Just to clarify
1. Do I have to create a test account first then change it to a real account to accept payments?
2. As I already have a stripe account , should I simply use it with woopayments or is it required to create a new one ?Hi @mohammedmalleck,
Thank you for following up and for the detailed clarification — that’s very helpful.
To address your questions:
- You don’t need to create a test account first to enable live payments — test mode is only meant for simulating transactions and verifying your setup.
- Regarding using an existing Stripe account: WooPayments requires creating a new Stripe Express account during setup. It’s not possible to use an existing Stripe account directly with WooPayments.
Although WooPayments is powered by Stripe, it uses a dedicated Stripe Express account type designed specifically for WooPayments merchants. If you’re logged into your Stripe dashboard while setting up WooPayments, the new Express account can be linked to your existing Stripe account, but they’ll still remain separate and won’t share data.
You can find full details here: https://woocommerce.com/document/woopayments/account-management/existing-stripe-account/
Let’s have you try setting up WooPayments again following this flow, and let us know if you’re still stuck at the loading screen afterward — we can guide you through the next step.
Hi @lovingbro
Yes , I am still stuck at the loading screen and also , if woopayments works with stripe then whats the stripe option in the bottom(view image here) for?
I mean , how is this stripe different from what woo offers? or does it work in the same way like woo , same payout handling dashboard and rates e.t.c?Hi @lovingbro ,
Let me know what should be the way forward to enable woopayments now that I am stuck in loading screen , as I want to get the site live by today…
Looking forward to your responseHi @mohammedmalleck,
Thanks for sticking with this and for sharing the screenshot. I can see how that might raise questions. From the image, it looks like you have both WooPayments and Stripe listed as separate payment options, which is totally valid, but they are not the same integration. Let me explain:
WooPayments
- Built by WooCommerce, powered by Stripe behind the scenes
- Requires you to create a Stripe Express account during setup
- Fully managed within your WooCommerce dashboard (payments, disputes, deposits, etc.)
- Woo handles onboarding, payouts, and support flow
- Some features like instant deposits and additional local payment methods are handled differently than standard Stripe
- Payouts go through Woo’s schedule and dashboard
Stripe (Standard Integration)
- Connects directly to your own Stripe account
- Gives you full control via the Stripe dashboard (dash.stripe.com)
- You manage disputes, payout settings, and reporting yourself
- Offers full Stripe features and customizability
- Managed independently from WooCommerce
So the option you’re seeing under Stripe (Active) is the standalone Stripe plugin, which you can use instead of WooPayments if you prefer managing your own Stripe account directly.
If you’re still stuck at the loading screen for WooPayments, it’s worth clearing your browser cache or trying a different browser just in case. You can also try completing the setup using an Incognito tab to bypass any session issues.
Hi @lovingbro
I have switched between browsers ,cleared cache e.t.c multiple times now but the same issue persists for me.
Is there any other way to configure this ?Hi @mohammedmalleck,
Thank you for getting back and for following through with the previous suggestion. I understand this issue must be frustrating, especially since you want to get your site live as soon as possible.
Let’s try some additional troubleshooting steps. First, go to WooCommerce > Status > Tools, locate Clear WooPayments account cache, and click the Clear button.
After that, follow the guide here to reset your account setup: https://woocommerce.com/document/woopayments/startup-guide/#resetting
Once that’s done, try setting up your account again and let me know how it goes.
Hi @mosesmedh
So I just created an test account and then moved it to live and it works.
There are some other issues though , Ig I’ll create separate ticket for them.Hi there!
That’s great to hear — I’m glad moving from the test account to live worked successfully!
If you’re experiencing any other issues, absolutely — feel free to create a separate ticket for each one, and we’ll be happy to take a closer look.
