Cannot activate plugin – server 500 error

    I installed the Event Calendar plugin. When I tried to activate it, it just gives me a server 500 error. I deactivated all other plugins. Still same error when I try to activate it. I changed my theme to 2014… still cannot activate the plugin. This site is brand new, I have not even added any content.

    Any help on this 500 error? I would really like to use this plugin but will try a different calendar plugin if we can’t get it to work.

    Hello and sorry to hear about the troubles,

    We don’t have any logged bugs or an influx of users reporting 500 errors upon installation, so the first step I would take would be to contact your hosting company to see if they have any insight on the issue.

    Are you experiencing anything similar when attempting to install different plugins other than The Events Calendar?
