When I select multiple groups and press update only the last group I clicked gets saved.
ok, I understand now – not sure why that is happening – it works ok on my test site
I need to see what your settings are :
can you go into dashboard>settings>bbp private groups>plugin information and either paste the result here, or if private, sne dme the settings via my website

ok, I can’t immediately replicate the issue.
It could be a theme or plugin issue
Plugins
Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.
Themes
If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.
Hello. I’ve tried some plugins and most of them were fine. I’ve just decided to add some custom code, and add a couple of extra user roles to fix this issue. Thanks for all your help! -Thomas
