Cannot add sections to second KB
-
For some reason I can’t add sections to my second KB’s . When I add the new section, it is displayed in the right section but when I refresh, it disappears. Everything works fine in the first KB.

Hi @m0r0mete,
when a new section is created if it appears in the list on the right it means that is was created.
You can confirm this by creating a new article and check if the sections is listed in the available ones.
If this is correct we should instead check why the Sections page is not listing them on a page refresh.
Can you please check if there is any error in your browser console or in the PHP error logs? Thanks
Thanks for your quick reply. There are zero errors in console or php error logs. As I said, everything works fine in the first KB. I can add/delete sections without any problems the issue is with the second KB. I even tried to create more KB’s , same issue. Section are added but not saved. After refresh they disappears. If I create a new article, the sections are not displayed, only those added in the first KB.
HI,
definitely odd as nothing changes between KBs.
If you go to Knowledge Base > Sections and select the knowledge base with issues, do you see this notice where the sections should be listed?“There are no sections under (your KB name here). You can create a new section from the form on the left.”

BasePress.
Yes. The message is displayed. When I add a section, the message disappears and the created section is displayed. When I refresh, the section(s) disappear and the message “There are no sections under (your KB name here). You can create a new section from the form on the left.” is displayed again.
Hi,
I am not sure why that would happen has this is the first time such an issue is reported.
Would it be possible for you to temporarily disable all other plugins and switch to a default WordPress theme and check if the issue resolves?
If it does we can then investigate which of those is conflicting. Thanks
Hi. I did that and still the same issue. Funny thing. I’ve uninstalled, deleted and reinstalled the plugin again. Now even the BasePress Settings are not saved. For example if I switch from Modern to Zen theme, after saving, the Modern theme is selected again. Basically, all the setting I did 2 days ago when I installed the plugin for the first time, are somehow hardcoded without the option to change them. I suspect it could be a database issue (MariaDB/INNO) but there is another curious thing. I created a staging version of the entire site and everything works fine. I am able to create new KB’s and add sections and articles, save settings, etc.
Here are a few details about the server, if it helps:
Server info: nginx/1.21.0 PHP version: 7.4.18 PHP post max size: 200 MB PHP time limit: 3600 PHP max input vars: 10000 cURL version: 7.68.0, OpenSSL/1.1.1f MySQL version: 5.5.5-10.4.18-MariaDBHi,
from your description I believe the issue is some caching at the server level which is supplying old(cached) data from the database.
You may need to check with your hosting provider if any such cache is enabled.BINGO. The culprit was “Redis Object Cache” that was enabled at server level on woocart.com dedicated WP hosting. Thanks again for your help. I will purchase the pro version, don’t really need it since the basic version offers me enough, but just to support your work. Awesome plugin, awesome support. Have a great day.
Hi,
That’s fantastic!
I appreciate your kind words and the will to support the project!
I hope BasePress can be a good fit for your project.
Enjoy the day as well! -
