Cannot "Authorize New Account"

    Today I created a new application on the Twitter website. I was sure to put in a callback URL, specifically “http://google.com”.

    I removed the old Consumer key and secret, clicked “Update Options”.
    Saw that no Consumer data was present.
    Entered the new key and secret. Clicked “Update Options”.
    I clicked “Authorize New Account”.
    Twitter presented it’s screen and I clicked “Authorize app”.
    I was returned to my WordPress blog and nothing has changed in the Twitter Widget settings screen. I see no Authorized Accounts.

    I then removed the entire Twitter Widget Plugin and repeated this process. No change.

    I am having the same issue. It keeps displaying “Could not recognize the response from Twitter”

    I am logged into to my twitter account, am I missing something? Is there something else I can do?
