    I too cannot update my plugins automatically. I do not have, and never had the WP Auto Upgrade plugin installed.

    I disabled all plugins and tried to upgrade, and still get the below error:

    Downloading update from http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/akismet.zip

    Unpacking the update

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/robdoar/public_html/blog/wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php on line 5428

    I have chmoded the upgrades and plugin directories to no avail… HELP someone!

    I had the same problem. I was able to fix it by setting my FTP to upload the file (class-pclzip.php) in binary mode, instead of the default “auto”.
