    Hello

I am trying out the free version of this plugin. I used this video to guide the set up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7IgQpKJ-K0

According to the video, if the page has not been automatically created, we can create one ourselves and link them in the settings (the new, current version method to do this is Settings -> Buddy Press -> URLs.

However, the Directory Permalink cannot be edited. This means I cannot link a page I created, and, the URL that the settings chose, doesn’t appear in my Pages section.

For example: I made a page titled “Members” and the URL slug is simply “members”.

But the plugin’s own directory permalink for the members directory is “members-2”, and this works.

I cannot make “members” the URL in the permalink, and there is also no page with a URL slug of “members-2”.

The page “members” doesn’t show anything, naturally, because I created an empty page based on the instructions in the video.

    Can you help?

    Hi @stephunique

    Thank you for reaching us.

Since BuddyPress released major updates a few months ago, the video documentation is no longer related. We will update the documentation and tutorials soon.

The current BuddyPress version no longer uses regular WordPress pages to let site administrators customize BP Directories titles and permalinks.

You can change the permalinks on the Settings >> BuddyPress >> URLs tab. Kindly check screenshot below:

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi KaineLabs Team,

Thanks for your reply. I already know about the method shown in your screenshot. The problem is, as I already mentioned, the Directory Permalink cannot be edited.

I figured out the issue and wanted to write it here.

The URL for the permalink cannot be edited, but the slug can be. I had the URL for the directory set to the default “mydomain.com/members/”. However, since there was no “members” page, I created a new page called “members” with the slug “/members”. To avoid the duplicate conflict, Youzify made the directory URL “mydomain.com/members-2/”. To change the URL, change the slug section as detailed in the screenshot above. In my case I can delete the “members” page and change the slug for the directory to “members”.

Thanks, I will close this topic now.

    Hi @stephunique

Yes, you need to edit “Page slug” field, not the “Page permalink” field. However, I am glad to hear you have sorted the issue by yourself.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best Regards, KaineLabs Team.
