You seem to have a second lightbox plugin (“Responsive Lightbox LightGallery”?) that seems to be throwing a JavaScript error on that page. I am not sure if the error is preventing the closure, of if the fact that you have a second lightbox is interfering with the functionality of Photonic.
Yes, I suspected that maybe the case, it’s strange as no plugs have been updated recently and the issue wasn’t there before it also doesn’t seem to happen on all pages/posts. Weird, I’ll start by disabling the 2nd plug in and take it from there.
Yes, you were correct. I have disabled the other plugin and it seems to have fixed that.
Problem now is that my images hosted on the webserver don’t open up in the Lightgallery box.
I have seen this option which I have selected;
Photonic Lightbox for non-Photonic Images
Selecting this will let you use Photonic’s lightbox for non-Photonic images. This eliminates the need for a separate lightbox plugin.
I assume that the plugin monitors for image links and send them to the selected Lightbox.
I have, however, found a very odd situation.
If you click the photo directly in the blog post, it opens up in the default, terrible, WordPress lightbox.
For example, on this page
https://www.craigrogers.photography/always-on-the-lookout-lycosa-tarantula-scorpion/
However, if you click the image from the Blog Listing page, it opens up in the Lightgallery lightbox from Photonic
For example, the same blog post in the blog listing
https://www.craigrogers.photography/896-2/page/2/
You will also need to activate the option “Include Photonic JS for non-Photonic Images / Videos”, right under the option you have cited.
I also need to open my eyes…….. 🙂
Again, many thanks. I will be “Buying you a Coffee” for all the fantastic work and help.
Regards
Craig
Great! I am marking this resolved.
