When I click on ‘Connect Account’, I get this message and then nothing happens – ‘Connecting. A new window will open with Mailchimp’s OAuth service. Please log-in and we will take care of the rest.’

I’ve chatted with Mailchimp support and they can’t help.

    Hi @schalkeyg,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue you are experiencing when trying to connect your Mailchimp account with the Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin.

Based on the information you provided, it is possible that the problem you are encountering is related to a pop-up blocking issue. Pop-up blockers can prevent the OAuth window from opening, which is necessary for the authentication process.

To resolve this issue, we recommend taking the following steps:

    1. Disable Pop-up Blocker: Please check your browser settings and disable any pop-up blockers that may be enabled. This will allow the OAuth window to open and establish the connection between your Mailchimp account and the plugin.
    2. Update to the Latest Version (3.2): It is important to ensure that you are using the latest version of the Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can resolve compatibility issues. You can download the latest version from the GitHub plugin page at https://github.com/mailchimp/mc-woocommerce/.

If disabling the pop-up blocker and updating to the latest version of the plugin does not resolve the issue, it may be a plugin or theme conflict.

To check for plugin conflicts in Mailchimp for WooCommerce, you can follow these steps:

    1. Disable Other Plugins: Temporarily deactivate all other plugins installed on your WooCommerce website, except for Mailchimp for WooCommerce. This will help determine if any conflicts arise from the interaction between Mailchimp for WooCommerce and other plugins.
    2. Test Functionality: After disabling the other plugins, test the functionality of Mailchimp for WooCommerce to see if the issue persists. This includes connecting your Mailchimp account, syncing data, and any other features you are experiencing problems with.
    3. Enable Plugins One by One: Begin enabling the other plugins one by one, testing the functionality of Mailchimp for WooCommerce after each activation. This will help identify if a specific plugin is causing a conflict.
    4. Identify the Conflict: If the issue reoccurs after enabling a specific plugin, it is likely that there is a conflict between that plugin and Mailchimp for WooCommerce. Take note of the conflicting plugin.
    5. Troubleshoot the Conflict: Once you have identified the conflicting plugin, you can troubleshoot the conflict by reaching out to the support team of that plugin. They will be able to provide guidance on resolving the conflict or offer alternative solutions.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue for you. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
