Cannot connect to Woo Commerce
-
Hi
I can connect the plugin from WordPress to Mailchimp ok and I can see all my lists. In Mailchimp I can’t get it to connect back to Woo Commerce.
I have deactivated all the plugins apart from Woo Commerce and MailChimp for WooCommerce so it is not a conflict.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin.
Any ideas appreciated!

Hi @teapotteapot, thanks for reaching out. Can you clarify what you mean by “In Mailchimp I can’t get it to connect back to Woo Commerce.”
Once the plugin is connected in WordPress, you should be all set with sending information over to MailChimp. There’s no configuration required in the MailChimp UI.
Hope that makes sense, please let me know if this is still an issue.
Thanks,
KyleI have installed the plugin and set the API key. In WordPress I can see all the lists.
Back in Mailchimp, when I try to connect the site it stalls and does not connect.
I need Mailchimp to connect so I can import products into newsletters.
I am following these instructions https://mailchimp.com/help/connect-or-disconnect-mailchimp-for-woocommerce/
I get as far as Connected Sites/Woo Commerce and click on Connect but all I have is a message saying ‘waiting for connection’
Thanks for your reply!
@teapotteapot, You shouldn’t need to perform any extra steps to “connect” the site after the plugin is installed. After everything is connected, you should be all set to create any automation or campaign.
When you go to create an automation, do you see your site’s name loaded in the “Select a store” drop-down?
I cannot connect.
I had this plugin working before and I could import products into Mailchimp. I disconnected it so I could connect to a different list and it won’t connect any more.
https://snag.gy/4DNUbr.jpgIt gets stuck here and will not connect
https://snag.gy/beusz0.jpg@teapotteapot, thanks for sharing that info. and screenshots. I think this is a situation where the connected site is stuck in limbo as a result of being disassociated with the plugin. When you uninstall, are you still seeing the store as “waiting for connection”?
no, it only waits for connection when I ask it to connect. If I close Mailchimp then open it again it is not trying to connect.
I really appreciate you taking time to help with this!
Not a problem @teapotteapot, happy to try to get to the bottom of this since it’s a new issue. Let’s try this…instead of trying to connect your store via the MailChimp UI, simply download & install the plugin from your WordPress install. Here’s the plugin link if you need it: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/mailchimp-for-woocommerce/
I have the plugin installed ok, and I have set the API key and I can see my lists from my website.
Excellent! So now when you go to create an Automation do you see your store from the drop-down?
what do you mean by create an automation?
If you go to Create Campaign > Create an email > Automated that’s what I’m referring to. If you’re just creating a plain ‘ole Campaign you’ll be able to choose your store there as well when designing the email.
no, I cannot see it, the screenshots I sent you before show you what happens, it just asks me to connect and it stalls
Ok, I’m really sorry you’re still having issues. It sounds like there’s something that needs to be flushed on the MailChimp side with the site(s) that are connected/pending.
Let me ask a few folks on our next steps to troubleshoot. It may be later in the week due to the Holiday here in the U.S. We appreciate your patience.
no problem and no hurry! happy holidays!
@teapotteapot, I spoke with the support folks and the best option for us would be for you to contact the MailChimp support team directly since this appears to be a problem outside the plugin. They also have visibility into your account/back-end that I’m not able to view. Once they’re able to figure out what needs to be reset/flushed the plugin should work as expected.
Really appreciate your patience on this and working through the details. For now, I’m closing this ticket out as this appears to be a bug not related to the integration. Definitely reach back out if you encounter anything else.
