• I have a few websites (same main domain – dev, test, testest)

I am trying to get rid of the cherry plugin the person that created our site used but is causing our site to crash. I can deactivate it but I am trying to get rid of it. I can get rid of it from all the sites except for one.

I have to go into recovery mode to get to the WordPress dashboard and was able to get rid of them there. But in the one, I get this message next to the plugin:  This plugin failed to load properly and is paused during recovery mode.

This seems to prevent me from deleting it because that option is not there. Only “Deactivate” is there. But Deactivate doesn’t deactivate it and the delete button doesn’t show up and I can’t even get to it without going to recovery mode which seems to be causing the issue.

How do I get this plugin deactivated so I can delete it.

It shows deactivated in the Hostgator Hosting/plugins list.

    Thanks

Delete it from the /wp-content/plugins/ directory via FTP. Your host’s support team can tell you how to connect via FTP.

    I have 5 subdomains.

If I only want to delete it from one of the sub domains, does this delete it a single subdomain or all the sub domains? If it does it for all the sub domains, is there a way to delete it from only one sub domain?

When you say host’s support team, you would be talking about Hostgator, right?

    Thanks

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with your project, so I don’t know how it is structured and what the subdomains stand for. Therefore, there are two possible answers to your question:

    • If you have a multisite and sub-sites are created via subdomains, you cannot delete a plugin for just one sub-site – it will be deleted for all sub-sites.
    • However, if you have individual installations on the subdomains, there is no problem. Delete the plugin in the above-mentioned way where the problem exists, not in the other projects.

As I said, I am not familiar with your project, so I don’t know who your host is. If you say it’s Hostgators, then yes, that would certainly be your host whose support you should contact about this.

    Sounds good.

    Thanks.
