Hi Andie,
thanks for reaching out.
I can confirm the gray spot coming from an AdSense ad injected into the header. That could be the placement in Advanced Ads.
I have not yet seen a case where deleting a placement didn’t work.
Does it work when you remove the ad item to the empty value in the select field and update the placement then?
Thanks,
Thomas
Tried it again with the advice, and it worked! Thank you loads!
Andie.
Perfect, thanks for letting me know.
Thomas
Sorry to be coming back here, but I discovered a new issue and I didn’t want to create a new thread… I’m shown this warning when I go into settings:
Your AdSense application is still under review. You will only see blank ads until your account has been either fully approved or disapproved
But I got an email from AdSense telling me I was good to go and could proceed to use the ads… Do you know what could be causing this?
Does the email you got from them tell you that ads will also be delivered on your site or that you are good to go to place the ad code (which is also needed to just verify your site)?
PS: it is indeed better to open a new thread for different problems.
Ah, sorry, I will open new threads from now on! They gave me the ad code after they verified my account (for which another code insertion was required). If they need to verify this as well, do you know how long it will take? I’m asking cause I still see ads that aren’t blank on my blog…
If you are seeing ads then your account is probably working already. There is nothing like “dummy” ad from AdSense.
The message you see within Advanced Ads could be outdated already. We don’t update them automatically often because there is a limit to the number of calls we can make.
Thanks,
Thomas
Oh, alright, then!! Many thanks!!
Andie.
