I have an event that I created that shows for every week. I need to cancel the event for one week only. I could not see how to do this so I tried to amend the existing event so it appeared only through the week preceeding the cancelled date and then to create a separate event for the cancelled week and finally recreated the original starting the following week. Well as confusing as this seems, nothing in my plan worked. I even tried to deleted the event entirely and no matter what I do the event continues to appear in the calendar. How do I:

    1. modify an existing ongoing event for only one week of the time?

    2. delete an event from the calendar

    3. stop an event at a specific date.

Please answer all 3 questions. Thanks

    Sue

  • You can use the “Hide” event feature to disable an event category or all categories on a specific day. I admit the documentation for this feature needs to be improved.

Basically if you want to omit August 31, then create a new event for August 1 and set “Hide events” to true.

Deleting an event will remove it form the calendar immediately. If you are not seeing this happen, I suspect you have a caching plugin that is loading an older copy of the page.

There is no way to stop at a specific date, but you can enter a number of repeats for a recurring event.
