Cannot Edit Footer With Elementor

I’m very new to building websites, but found Elementor Header & Footer Builder and thought it could be very useful. I followed the steps in this article, but when I click ‘edit with elementor,’ the page just says ‘loading’ and it never loads. Can anyone point me in the right direction? thank you!
