    Hello,

I’m working on Checkout page and faced almost all blocks are locked and that’s impossible to make changes of Checkout fields in Gutenberg editor. I cannot even delete or change message within Contact Information block. As far as I understood, I also cannot use hooks cause they are related to previous Checkout that is being composed using shortcode. Actually, I have tried Classic Checkout block as well, but it doesn’t work at all. I’ve also tried several plugins which promise configuring of Checkout fields for WooCommerce, but no success again.

Could you please help me find the way to edit this page or at least delete unnecessary fields?

    Thanks in advance

Hello @caprella if you are using blocks on the checkout page then yes you are correct you will not be able to hook it. You are better off adding the WooCommerce shortcode for Checkout page and then hooking it thru a child theme.

Hey there, @caprella! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

If you use the checkout shortcode (by adding the shortcode block on the checkout page and typing [woocommerce_checkout]) there are several plugins you can use to edit the checkout page, including our plugin, Checkout Field Editor. We offer support for this plugin and you have a 30-day money-back guarantee to test it. If you want help with it, please contact us at https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/.

Most plugins will only work with the shortcode, not with the checkout block, as it is a newer feature, so we currently do not have a plugin to edit it.

If you want to keep using the checkout block, you can edit it with custom code.

This task is a bit outside our support policy, but don’t worry! We’ve got some resources that can help you out:

If you’re uncomfortable with this approach, you may need to consider hiring a developer who can help you with these customizations.

You can also visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there too.

I hope this was clarifying. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi @carolm29

You’ve just saved a lot of my nerve cells! I should have contacted support much earlier. The point is I tried to use “Classic Checkout” block that has ‘shortcode’ icon in the list of blocks. So I was absolutely sure this is truly the same as using “Shortcode” block [woocommerce_checkout]. In fact, no, cause Classic Checkout doesn’t work, but Shortcode with [woocommerce_checkout] works perfectly. At least I can see fields, all hooks are available and Checkout Field Editor plugin affects my UI.

    Thanks you so SO much!
