• I have installed many plug-ins and none of them seem to offer a simple way to create tables like in excel. One had the easiest configuration settings but for some reason all the cells in the table where filled in grey and I had no way to change it.

I was recommended to install Tiny Table but it’s so hard to use, it doesn’t even get added to the editor bar, which is what I am looking for.

    Any suggestions?

  • This one seems to be very popular.

Aside: Color issues should be pretty simple to deal with, so i’m inclined to suggest switching back to the plugin with the colour issue and posting information relevant to that problem(it should be relatively easy to fix).

Thanks for responding. I added that plugin for why would it just add the table code in the editor instead of showing us the actually table? How are we supposed to make any changes to it?

It’s so unintuitive to always have to edit the table in the back-end. Just to be clear, I am not trying to create a typical table like in excel with just text, I would like to use it for the positioning of elements on a page kinda of how you use tables to position things within Dreamweaver or a program like that.

The other table program I was using (or trying to use) was Easy Table Creator By PolyVision but it’s terrible. It has limited options and does not allow you to add images within the cells. This is the one where the the cells are all grey once added. I just create the cell with no content in it in the edit screen and then try to do the rest within the editor. That is when I get a table that is completely filled in in grey.

Let me know your other suggestions.

Well then what you’re really looking for is a decent editor, not something you plug into WordPress..

Maybe check out some of the alternatives to Dreamweaver.

I can understand a need for a decent editor for creating tables, i use to use an old copy of Dreamweaver for that myself, back when i needed to build fiddly tables.
