Cannot get install to function

    I’ve followed instructions to the letter. But when I get to wp-admin/install.php I keep getting as follows…

    Error establishing a database connection

    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at loybanks.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    * Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    * Are you sure that the database server is running?

    I set up my SQL Database thru my host powweb. It DID setup fine. I changed the DB name, username and password as instructed. using Microsoft Expression Web; then uploaded to my web site.

    So I’m at a loss as to what I’m doing wrong. Obviously there must be something I’m doing wrong. Right?

    If you are 100% sure that the values you have for ‘DB_NAME’, ‘DB_USER’, ‘DB_PASSWORD’, and ‘DB_HOST’ are correct, then email/call your host’s support department and make sure your MySQL database server is up and running. If the server is running then ask them to confirm those values for you.
