• Hi,

First time here. I am taking over a WordPress site for a client and cannot get logged into the admin panel.

When I go to the login page, at the top I get these messages:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/g/a/g/gage91002/html/community/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/functions.php:1) in /home/content/g/a/g/gage91002/html/community/wp-login.php on line 368

    <a href="http://www.gagesgranite.com/community/wp-login.php">The page is located at http://www.gagesgranite.com/community/wp-login.php</a>

Once I enter the admin credentials, I get a blank page (no dashboard) and the following errors at the top of the page:

The old designer is no where to be found, so it is really difficult to say the least.

    Any help would be great!

Give this a good read and check the wp-config.php and wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/functions.php for hidden blank lines.

Hey Jan – it looks like that’s an old version of twentyeleven –

    /*
    Theme Name: Twenty Eleven
    Theme URI: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/themes/twentyeleven
    Author: the WordPress team
    Author URI: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/
Description: The 2011 theme for WordPress is sophisticated,
    Version: 1.2

    Would that do it?

    EDIT – site’s on WP3.5

    Hi! wow, quick responses….thanks!

    the url is gagesgranite.com/community/wp-login.php

I will check that. I dont know a whole lot about this site yet as I just took it over…I do know the previous developer is using 2 different WP installations to power the site….its a cluster**** at the moment.

Don’t update twentyeleven without making a complete back-up – any changes that have been made to the theme files will be overwritten and lost. If you think that theme files have been modified, there are work-arounds…

@wpyogi, I’m not quite sure if the theme files have been modified. I assume they have been. As stated, this site is using 2 different WP installations to run the site, from what I can tell. They use gagesgranite.com/community and gagesgranite.com/countertops and link between the two. I can get logged in to the admin site for countertops, but not for community…hell, I dont even know if that is the correct place to log in either.

Looks like the countertops site is using an entirely different theme (breeze from ThemeForest) – but the community site looks like it probably isn’t supposed to be using twentyeleven… Is it supposed to look the way it does?

    Thread Starter jaredmcdowell

    (@jaredmcdowell)

that is correct. Countertops is using a different theme than the other…

Evidently it is ‘supposed’ to look like this, but not sure why. The original guy has dropped off the face of the earth, so I have no one to ask those questions to.

I think I may have figured some things out….it doesnt look like the Community side is actually used. It seems he created some standalone .php pages that are designed in one way, so I may have jumped the gun here.

I will let you know if I need anything else…but thanks for the very quick responses.

    BR

    Jared
