Hello,
1. By default, WPvivid names its backup zip files as 'yourdomain.com_wpvivid-xxxxxx.zip,' making them easily recognizable as backups created by our plugin.
However, please be aware that the plugin does not currently support the recognition of renamed backup files. If you've manually altered the zip file's name, kindly revert it to its original format.
2. If your source site had been whitelabeled, the backup zip file will bear the name 'yourdomain_whitelabel-xxxxxx.zip,' indicating it was generated by our plugin.
In this scenario, it's important to note that the target site must also be whitelabeled with the same brand name for the plugin to successfully identify and work with the backup zip file.
3. If you selected the option 'Merge all backup files into a single package when backup completes' in WPvivid settings on the source site during backup creation, you can manually extract the backup parts on your desktop and will receive the following zip packages:
- wp core
- wp content
- plugins
- themes
- uploads
- database
Then, upload each of them individually to your site and perform separate restoration processes for each.
Kind regards.

I’m not really sure what all this means. All I did was download the files your plugin created to my desktop and uploaded again to site once I moved to a new host.
Downloaded files are named as: mydomain.com_wpvivid–e9360e38280d7_2025-08-28-12-35_backup_all.part002
I’ve changed to:
mydomain.com_wpvivid-e9360e38280d7.zip
and the file is still not recognized as from wp vivid
why is it this difficult to download and upload a file?

Hello,
For your situation, the following three methods can be used to address the issue.
- Please download the backup from the source site again and re-upload it to the target site. Ensure that the backup file name remains unchanged during this process.
- You can manually extract the renamed backup parts on your desktop, which will generate the following ZIP packages: WP Core, WP Content, Plugins, Themes, Uploads, and Database. Please upload all of these ZIP packages simultaneously to the target site for restoration.
- WPvivid plugin does not currently support the recognition of renamed backup files. If you’ve manually altered the zip file’s name, kindly revert it to its original format.
Kind regards.
