Cannot Import Blogger.com!

Hi, I just installed my wordpress blog and I tried to import my old blog from Blogger.com using the import tool, but it doesn’t work, here is what I got after trying:

Could not connect to https://www.google.com

There was a problem opening a secure connection to Google. This is what went wrong:

The operation completed successfully.

I’m having a similar problem where I receive a “connect timed out” error after I authorize my blog with google.

A solution that work for me.

Make a blog and account at wordpress.com.

Import your post/comments/etc from blogger.

Export -> save file (xml)

Go to your self host wordpress site and import the xml file.

Hope it works for u guys too.. Cheers.

I had the same problem but realized that it has to have a blogspot address for the import to work. I changed by settings to a blogspot blog and imported and then changed back to what I normally use with blogger. Hope this helps

Yes importing to wordpress.com and exporting to an xml works. Thank you.

And how to import my Blogger subscribers to my WordPress 2.6.1 installation, please???

I had no trouble importing the text of my blogspot posts including all comments, but the images uploaded on blogger needs to be moved also. How do I do that without saving and reuploading each individual picture? All the best
