I cannot install a buddy press theme. I had this theme before, and tried to reinstall it (thinking it’s what I needed to do at the time), and now I keep getting this:

    Downloading install package from http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/themes/download/unplugged.1.0.0.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    Destination folder already exists. /home4/thedidd1/public_html/wp-content/themes/unplugged/

    Theme install failed.

Does anyone have any (beginner) tips? Thanks!

  • Have you FTP’d to your server and removed the existing unplugged folder before attempting the reinstall?

No, I haven’t. I don’t really know what that entails. Could you provide some insight to the process?

    Thanks.

Get an FTP (file transfer protocol) program – Filezilla is free and has versions for Mac & PC.

In your FTP program, enter the details for your hosting account, which your host should have provided to you when you signed up. Generally you need hostname, host directory (sometimes this is left blank), username/login, and password.

Connect to your server and find your theme folder. Find the unplugged folder and delete it.

Each FTP program comes with help files that tell you how to navigate and delete.

    Good luck!

p.s. you can also use an online file manager instead of FTP if your host provides one. Log into your hosting control panel and have a look around.
