  • I didn’t know there was an Android App until just now…

From what I read it is a WordPress dot com centric APP that will work with self-hosted WordPress sites with the XML Remote Procedural Calls enabled.

I run all my sites with XMLRPC enabled as my sites either connect to each other that way or are IndieWeb enabled and I’m thinking some of the IndieWeb stuff needs that or will in the future.

So… this article below will show you a bunch about controlling and disabling XMLRPC and a bit about re-enabling it if it was disabled in your install.

    https://www.greengeeks.com/tutorials/article/how-to-enable-and-disable-xmlrpc-php-in-wordpress-and-why/

If you use the plugin the article recommends you’ll want to make sure you enable or at least pass through the RPC connections from your apps. They also recommend disabling pingbacks (and trackbacks I think) but I leave them on as they are somewhat interesting to me. That APP might need them, too so think about that before you decide.
