    Hi, I can’t seem to manually refund an order that has been placed via Woopayments is there a reason for this? I want to mark the order as refunded and issue store credit to my customer the system does not allow me to do this, it only allows me to issue a refund to the customers original payment method. Can this be added as a future features request? Paypal, Klarna & Clearpay all allow manual refunds. or am i missing the correct method to achieve a manual refund?

    Currently, WooPayments only supports issuing refunds back to the customer’s original payment method. There isn’t a built-in option to manually mark an order as refunded and issue store credit instead.     If you’d like to issue store credit to your customer, you would need to use a WooCommerce store credit or gift card plugin as a workaround. For example, you could manually create store credit for the customer and mark the order as refunded in your own records.

    We also encourage you to submit this as a feature request for WooPayments so the team can consider adding the ability to issue manual refunds or store credit directly in the future:

    @shahzeenfarooq Thanks for confirming, much appreciated. I have added a feature request. I genuinely think this is a key missing feature for merchants, especially when refunds need to be recorded for VAT/accounting purposes but processed outside of WooPayments (e.g. store credit/exchange).
