Cannot open PDF file

    Hi there,

    I’m not sure after what update this happened (WordPress? WooCommerce? WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips?), but now every time I create a PDF, the browser shows this: https://i.imgur.com/HRvYi5K.png

    I have followed the steps here: everything is green, the error also appears with the default template, I’ve got enough memory (128M) and I don’t see any error after activating “Enable debug output” (I don’t know where I should look at, actually).

    Could you help me troubleshoot this, please? Thanks!

    Hi Gerard,

    Can you open the PDF in any other program? Do you get a PDF in your email or is that the PDF doesn’t get generated at all?

    Gerard,

    It appears you’re using the MPDF addon, which is likely causing the error. We’d recommend you use the updated version first and take it from there. Get it here.

    Hi @dwpriv,

    Thanks for replying. I updated the plugin (thanks for that!), but the issue is still there. If I try to save the PDF, I can see that is 0 bytes, so it looks like there is an issue with the generation.

    If it helps, if I try to add the &output=html, then it works well, although looks more unstyled, for example I get no logo.

    Could you navigate to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and check for logs named woocommerce-pdf-ips-mpdf-xxx and check for errors there?

    Sure, there’s a lot of these errors:

    Thanks, that helps. It seems this is probably related not to a plugin update but a PHP update. Can you try to swap your logo by a JPG version (the error tells me it’s PNG at the moment), enable “Test mode” and test to see if you can generate the PDF now?

    It depends – all existing invoices will still link to the old PNG logo. You can either open them again with test mode enabled (just once is enough to set it to “JPG”) or enable “Always use the most current settings”.
