I was updating my “About” page, saved my work then Updated it. I then got this message at the top of my page “Updating failed. Could not update the meta value of _monsterinsights_skip_tracking in database. I tried again and got the same message. In my pages list is was previously saved as a Draft, I altered some txt and got the above message. I went to publish the page and got this message, “Publishing failed. Could not update the meta value of _monsterinsights_skip_tracking in database.
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
I have also just noticed when I went to save “As a Draft” I was asked if I’m sure I wanted to un Publish Post. The About link is not in my header either.
I have taken a Screenshot of the Banner warning and saved as a JPG file. I cannot seem to find the URL of the screenshot JPG file. I’ve tried to copy the file and pasting on here but cannot.
Thanks for your effort in sharing a screenshot with us.
Since the error sounds like it’s specific to your About page, would you be able to try out your idea of creating a new page and copying the About page contents over?
This seems to be the solution for other similar reported issues surrounding the “Updating failed. Could not update the meta value of … in database” error. It sounds like sometimes a page might experience an error and then gets stuck unfortunately. Creating new page works around that.
Please give that a try and let me know how it goes.
Making a new “About” page worked. I then published it with no problems at all. So glad for your help. I have been going through some of my other pages and found the same problem so I will be doing the same to them.
