    Hi

Just trying to install your plugin, but I get the error “Cannot redeclare class PclZip” when activating. I’m using WordPress 4.5.3 and PHP 5.6.23. I’ve tried disabling other plugins, but it’s not solved anything. I read about the diagnostics page for this plugin, but I’m not sure how to access that without first activating the plugin?

  • Hi Ian,

I’ll take a look at fixing this in the next version.

Thanks for the reply. I’m confused though, this issue is stopping me from even being able to install the plugin. Surely that’s not happening to everyone? Is there anything I can check or change to allow it to install?

    Hi Ian,

You’re right, it’s definitely not happening for anyone. I’m not quite sure why you’re still seeing it if you disabled all of the other plugins. There could possibly be something in the theme that’s conflicting?

As far as things you can check, you could either use a command line utility like grep or some other method of searching through all of your WordPress files and searching for the string “PclZip”. Something somewhere is declaring it, but it’s hard to say where that might be.

    Best,

    Hi Ian,

Give v1.7.1 of Simply Static a try. I believe I’ve resolved this issue.

    Best,
