  • Since version 1.7.18 the plugin stopped using the database to store its settings and now it is using a plain text file located (by default) at /wp-content/uploads/sucuri/, if this directory has no write privileges then the plugin can’t store any of the settings. When you click that link to dismiss the notice to update the API the plugin stores a setting named “sucuriscan_dismiss_setup” so it can recall next time you access the admin dashboard that you don’t want to see the message. However, since the directory mentioned above is not writable the setting is not being recorded. If you grant write privileges to that directory the issue will be resolved.
