• I’m using the Simple Pro theme from Nimbus (I can’t find it in the themes section).

There are sidebar options on each page, consisting of “Left”, “Right” or “None”, which a box below saying “Enter the number of the alternate sidebar you would like to apply. Leave blank to use default”. If I turn on the sidebar for the page, it will show the DEFAULT sidebar (and I cannot even find this default sidebar anywhere to edit it) regardless of what number I put into the alternate sidebar box. Yes, I have added widgets to the alternate sidebars I want to use. The sidebar listed as the Default Page sidebar in the Widgets section, is NOT the default sidebar that is shown when I turn on the sidebar option for the page. Halp??

Update: I am able to control the sidebar for POSTS but not PAGES. With Pages, I only seem to have the ability to turn the ‘default sidebar’ (wherever that actually is) off or on.

  • These forums are for questions about WordPress. Every theme in the WordPress repository also has a forum here, as do the plugins in the repository. But commercial themes and plugins do not. We can’t see the code for those and they are supported elsewhere.
You need to go to your theme’s support forum and ask there.

I was hoping there might be a generic answer to address my problem. The theme is not listed in the forums here, and I cannot find a support forum for this theme. Perhaps someone here would have seen this issue and knows the solution?

No, those options are unique to the theme. You can go back to wherever you acquired the theme to find support.
