    Hi there,
After updated to latest 2 versions, I found I cannot save the change of role restriction, I have to manually delete the restriction entry from database, I tried to flush the cache but it’s still the same. Don’t know what caused it. Could you check if it’s a bug?

  • I’m experiencing a similar problem.
When editing the capabilities for a Role, the Deny was checked for the basic Read capability.
I need to Grant the Read cap.
So I uncheck Deny, and check Grant, then save, it just reverts back to Deny being checked and Grant unchecked.
The user role can not access /wp-admin anymore.
I can not resave the the settings to grant the read cap.

    Hi @cloudedwards ,
I think it might be related to another issue [2 metabox after updates]:https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/two-metabox-after-update-3-0-0/

The one we used to edit is not functional, but I found another one in the meta box, that might be working.

@cloudedwards Found the temp solution: We must change both 2 “Content Permission” meta box the same way, keep the roles and displayed messages the same, this will save the settings correctly.

Look forward to an offcial fix to this duplicated metabox issue…

@michaeledi do you know if this also solution also works for ‘Edit Capabilities: Taxonomies’ as we are having issues retaining the ‘Deny’ checkbox for a couple taxonomies.?
