Post grid is not based on row-column, you could set % values for grid item width, like 30% will give 3 columns in each row, and you can set custom number of posts per page value to control row number.

I did read the documentation about it, and found the solution you described.
However I do have a remark about this, because you show a picture with three columns. Why not show pictures with one, two, three, four colums, and let the user click on them ? That would make it al lot better to understand. I believe in older versions you could do that ?
This picture is misleading as you can click on it, but nothing happens.
I would expect that you would get a screen asking how many columns you want.
Maybe the next release ?
