Version 5.1 sounds promising (I still use 4.1.7), therefore I updated a test site from 5.0 to 5.1.
However, I now cannot edit any data when defining backups. Whatever I try to do, only an advanced settings column appears on the right of the window without any entry option.
I uninstalled the plugin and installed it again. Now I even can no longer define my first backup. Step 1 and step 2 work fine, but step 3 (where to store) does not work. I try to define a website server location, but klicking on that icon shows a popup telling me to fill in a field but there is no field, only an advanced settings column with lots of sections and save buttons, but no entry fields.

You can see a screenshot of step 3 at https://cloud.gfcev.de/index.php/s/kP8a3o3a9pi4K8K

    Hi,

I saw the screenshot and it should not be like this. From what you’ve described, something definitely seems off.

Can you please check your browser’s developer console (usually F12 or right-click → Inspect → Console tab) and let us know if any errors are showing up?
Also, just to rule things out, have you tried basic troubleshooting like deactivating other plugins or switching to a default theme (like Twenty Twenty-Four)?

Let us know what you find — we’ll gladly help you get this sorted!

In the console I can only see warnings for your downloadable font backwpup.ttf (Glyph box was incorrect (glyphs ids 2) and OS/2: Bad sTypoLineGap, setting it to 0: -64).
Using Twenty Twenty-Four does not change anything.
However, deactivating the plugin WP Dark Mode seems to solve the problem. The user interface of BackWPup now looks as expected.

    Thanks for the quick response.
