Cannot set up after activated
-
I can install the plugin and activate it, but I cannot set up the Facebook connection. It just goes to a blank page on my admin console and never allows me to set up the connection. I am using WordPress Version 6.8.1 and the meta plugin says it is not tested on my version of WordPress. Is that the problem? Is the plugin not up to date with the current WordPress version?

Hi @nclarkston35 , thanks for reaching out!
The plugin is compatible with the latest version of WordPress. Can you share the system status report using PrivateBin, to help us investigate the issue?
Also, please let us know which version of PHP your site is using (it’s located under WordPress admin: Tools → Site Health → Info → Server).
Kind regards,
MarijaPHP 8.3.6 (Supports 64bit values)

Hi @nclarkston35 , can you share the System Status Report again, as the file you shared has expired?
Also, please let us know if there are any plugin-related errors in your Debug log.
Kind regards,
MarijaSorry, I do not understand how to find a debug log with these instructions.
I uploaded a debugging plugin and this is all it shows.
Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translation loading for the
zero-bs-crmdomain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at theinitaction or later. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 6.7.0.)WordPress core

The error you are seeing is not connected to the Meta Pixel for WordPress plugin. However, I noticed that you have both the Meta Pixel and Facebook for WooCommerce plugins installed.
Does your site require you use both? If not, can you delete the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin, clear the cache and try reconnecting to your page?
Kind regards,
MarijaStill no luck. The settings page is totally blank. Here is my latest debug log.

Line: 4476Hi @nclarkston35 ,
Thanks for sharing the log snippets! However, there aren’t any Meta Pixel-related entries within them. Could you reach out to your hosting provider for support? Ask them if they could check the logs on their end, or whether there is something blocking the Meta Pixel plugin or its resources.
Kind regards,
MarijaHi @nclarkston35 ,
Just wanted to follow up and check if you are still experiencing this issue? If so, were you able to get in touch with your hosting provider for support, and were they able to assist you?
Looking forward to your response,
MarijaNo, it is still not working. I talked to my hosting provider and they escalated the issue as far as they could and could not resolve it. I’m not able to get the pixel to display any settings at all. I have a screen recording of what happens. When I click on the settings for the pixel, the page goes to a refresh and then it’s blank. I still have my WordPress dashboard and controls, but no setup button or cababilities pop up for the pixel.
Hi @nclarkston35 ,
Thank you for following up. We noticed that you have both the Meta Pixel and Facebook for WooCommerce plugins installed.
Does your site require you use both? If not, can you delete the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin, temporarily disable all cache plugins, clear the cache and try reconnecting to your page?
Kind regards,
MarijaHi @nclarkston35 ,
Just wanted to follow up an check if you are still experiencing this issue? If so, can you do the following:
- Temporarily disable all cache plugins and clear the cache
- Uninstall the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin (if your site doesn’t require it in addition to the Meta Pixel for WordPress plugin)
- Reconnect to your page
Kind regards,
MarijaHi @nclarkston35 ,
Since we haven’t heard back from you in a while, we will be marking this issue as resolved. Please feel free to reach out again if you need any further assistance.
Kind regards,
Marija
