cannot set watermark

    WordPress v6.8.1 with Photo Gallery plugin v1.8.35

    Having chosen a watermark image via Global Settings > Watermark > Select image, when I click on “Set Watermark” on the Global Settings page, nothing happens. No error in the browser console, network traffic nor GUI. Some weeks ago, clicking this button resulted in applying the watermark image on all images in the Photo Gallery.

    When I go to a gallery, select all > Bulk Actions > Set Watermark, I consistently get the error Watermark could not be set. The image URL is incorrect. Even when I do a reset watermark as bulk action first, it still fails.

    Some weeks ago this feature was working, but it somehow doesn’t work anymore. The absolute image URL which I can see in the global settings is available and it is a PNG. I have checked in all galleries for duplicate files, but there are no duplicates. What else can I check to be able to add a watermark image again?
