    Starting recently, …

    • we cannot switch between list view and month calendar view
    • A view works when changed settings in “Calendar Display”/”Default view”
    • In list view, a click on the “next” page icon has no effect

    We’re using …

    • Theme Twenty Twenty-Four Version: 1.4
    • German language setting, the Events URL slug is “veranstaltungen”

Is this a known issue? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Wolfgang

    Hi @wolfgangsch

Thanks for reaching out. I’m happy to help with this.

After checking, it appears the issue is related to the calendar view slugs not being translated correctly. You can see this reflected in the URLs below:

    https://gemeinsam-fuer-stadtwandel.de/veranstaltungen/(/?:month)/
    https://gemeinsam-fuer-stadtwandel.de/veranstaltungen/(/?:list)/

Are you currently using a translation plugin? If so, could you please let us know the plugin name and version?

If you’re not using one, you may try installing the Loco Translate plugin and following the steps in this article to sync The Events Calendar translations with your WordPress site to see if that resolves the issue.

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/managing-translations-with-loco-translate/

If the issue persists, please try flushing your permalinks by navigating to Settings → Permalinks and simply resaving the page.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi Darian,

thanks for getting back to me on this issue.

We are not using any translation plugin. Therefor I’ve followed your suggestion and installed Loco Translate; however, after looking into the general translation guide I am not sure how I can use the tool to fix our issue.

For German language I am seeing 3 separate files,

I synced and searched them for the terms “month” and “list”, without seeing weird/unexpected stuff, but I am not really sure what to look for. How would I approach our issue?

PS: updating permalinks did not change the situation

    Hi @wolfgangsch ,

Thank you for your message, and I’m sorry to hear of the continued difficulties.

Do you happen to have users who have their profile’s language set to a different language, other than the site’s default? If yes, kindly try setting their profiles to have the same language as the site’s default, then regenerate your permalinks (Settings → Permalinks and simply resaving the page) again.

    Hi Tristan,

I followed your suggestion and changed my preferred language setting (English) to the site default (German), then refreshed the permalinks.

After a refresh I noticed that the links to swap list/month changed to the local/German terms “…/veranstaltungen/liste/” and “…/veranstaltungen/monat/” and started working as expected.

Even after reverting my preferred language to English the calendar continues to operate normally with German slugs/URLs.

While we can close this forum thread, I guess the plugin logic needs to get some review to prevent similar cases for other customers.

Thanks a lot for you help!
