Cannot update to version 3.3.4

    I am trying to update WPP to the latest version from v3.3.3 and for some reason I am getting this error:

    Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

    I usually always update through the wordpress plugins list, I had no issues updating this plugin in the past (in fact I am running the one before the last), and I have also just updated all the other plugins successfully, so I doubt there is any file permission issue as the error message is indicating.

    Where can I check what is actually going wrong? Was there anything that changed in the last update that is breaking the upgrade process?

    Hi there!

    That’s more a WordPress issue than a problem with the plugin itself. You could try updating the plugin manually (see Installation instructions) but that won’t really solve the problem so please get in touch with your hosting and ask them to check the permissions of your plugins folder.

    Thanks. For some reason some of the files were owned by a different user.
    A chown solved the problem! I managed to update afterwards.
