Hi Alison,
Sorry for the slow reply. I just took one of your pptx files and was able to upload it successfully to my test site that I use for development.
Can you please double-check the following settings are correct:
Allow uploads to Dropbox when the WordPress user is not logged in: (If not set, the user needs to be logged in before a file can be uploaded).
Filename extensions to allow: Ensure pptx is included in a comma-separated list (if more than one extension). e.g. jpg, txt, pptx, ppt
Let me know if those are set as expected. Is there any sort of error message when you try to upload a file?

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the reply. I can confirm that those settings are correct. Allow uploads to dropbox when WP user is not logged in is checked, and pptx is included in a comma separated list (this field has ppt, pptx, docx, doc, pdf in it).
There’s no error message. the % changes, sometimes shows 3% sometimes 80% then appears to go to 100% and the “uploading…” disappears and we’re back to square one. But there’s no file in the directory.
I have also tried it with a Dropbox Basic account and am getting same issue.
Is there anything else I can try or I should look for?
THanks
Alison
