• Hello,

I built a website on ServerPress and transferred it to GoDaddy recently. Everything was relatively smooth, except I cannot upload images. I get the following error:

“The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/”

I’ve been searching around and I’ve been finding answers about “changing file permissions to 777, 750, etc.” I’ve tried all of this through FileZilla to the Uploads folder but have not found any luck.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Brian

Have you discussed this with GoDaddy?

Yep, they couldn’t seem to figure it out.

I hate to pay for Premium support, but I might have to.

Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

Yeah, it’s weird. I’ve tried all three of those. Unless you have any other ideas, I might have to pay for the Premium GoDaddy service for them to take a look.

    Thanks for the help.
