• My WordPress has gotten worse as the weeks have gone on and now I cannot click the “Add Media” button or switch from visual to text. Any ideas? I also keep getting disconnected and get this error: “Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.”

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

I could do it in the dashboard since I can refresh my way into it, but I don’t have access to my FTP since the person who set the site up is out of the office. Any other alternatives?

If you can get to the Dashboard, try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Seventeen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
