Cannot visit site with shared SSL

Hello,

I use shared SSL on my site, and so I access my admin through a link which looks something like this: https://secure.myhost.com/~myusername/mydomain.com/wp-admin. When I click visit site I get forwarded to the plain site: http://mydomain.com and the plugin presents the maintenance screen as it seems does not recognize that I am still logged in as administrator. Any help is greatly appreciated.
