Canonical not working despite changes

    Hi, despite having followed instruction on how to set up the Canonical Url for my website both the www. and non www versions still exist.

    I have set my Canonical Url as http://www.marketingdenis.com
    My site is self hosted on a Microsoft server, not wordpress.com
    So basically I have opted for the www version.

    In Webmaster tools I have
    1. verified both versions of the website.
    2. Set the default Url as the www. version
    In WordPress Settings – General I have set the wordpress address and site address to the www. version.

    In the source code of both versions of the homepage it contains;
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”http://www.marketingdenis.com/&#8221; />

    I have WordPress SEO by Yoast installed.

    Anyone experience a similar issue and how did you resolve?
    I am starting out and the site is more for practice than use so be kind!
