Can't access dashboard

    I am using bitnami (local site development), wordpress, and Elegant Themes Chameleon.

    I bookmarked the local site in order to return to it easily.

    Worked fine this morning, however upon trying to get to it this afternoon, I am unable to do so.

    At first I deleted all cookies. That did not help.

    Next, I tried replacing the worpress files but that did not solve the problem.

    I am not a technical person so any advice would be appreciated in simple terms.

    Make sure bitnami’s webserver and mysql server for your local site are running.

    Not sure how to do that.

    To explain further:

    what I am seeing: is the page to the point I last worked on it, the entire local address is: http://localhost/wordpress/
    Seems like it should it be more than that?

    what I’m NOT seeing: is the navigation bar at the top of the page which allows me to change between the page view and the edit page/dashboard.

    If you can see a WordPress site at http://localhost/wordpress/ then your local webserver and database are already running. Sites you develop locally on your desktop computer will run under the default host name “localhost”. This is a standard practice for developing local websites that run on just your desktop. To see the navigation bar across the top, you need to be logged in to your WordPress. Anonymous visitors to your site will not ever see that navigation bar. Your login page is probably at http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin .

    A while ago, I had to change my wordpress password. When I added wp-admin to the address the wordpress log-in window appeared but it would not accept the password…anyways, I gave up, uninstalled it all, and have started over. I was not all that far into the design…thanks for your help…hopefully I won’t experience the same problem.
