Can't Access dashboard on Reverse Proxy

I am trying to install wordpress on my universities pubweb server and although I get it installed and am able to visit my webpage, although it seems to take a very long time to load, attempting to log in the the dashboard results in the url http://shingle.ndsu.nodak.edu:8210/wp-login.php instead of http://www.ndsu/edu/ala2/wp-login.php, which I would expect.

I get this odd url by clicking on the default login button on the home page.
Typing http://www.ndsu.edu/ala2/wp-login.php will give me the login screen but one I enter credentials it returns me to an incorrect url.

I know the server is using a reverse proxy, and I have read documentation on this issue at this forum, but nothing seem to match my exact problem of not being able to log into the dashboard, while the site still seems to work.
